Taking Steps

Central to understanding the role of ArtISability in the life of emerging artists is that our primary role is to connect our artists to their local arts community.

Our program develops artistic skills and professional skills to enable artists to be involved in the arts community.

Our program is based in the community itself. Each step of our program occurs in a different setting, preparing our artists for the real world.

At the commencement of the program artists are asked to put their hand up for ability as a commitment to do their best. Some artists will need more support than others to achieve their goals. It is not a race or competition, rather a journey . . .

A journey that looks at:-

  1. skills developing
  2. learning new skills
  3. making friendships
  4. connecting to other artists
  5. talking to other people who like art
  6. visiting art exhibitions
  7. entering art competitions
  8. visiting new places
  9. setting your own goals
  10. finding mentors and role models
  11. planning a art exhibition
  12. doing workshops
  13. learning how to present your work.
