To begin with under the funding agreements with the Regional Arts Development Fund and the Ipswich City Council we are only funded to link artists completing the March ArtISability Program. However, where possible we will refer unsuccessful applicants to other opportunity to suit their needs.
Those completing the program are also offer support to exhibit their work., we are currently discussing what this may look like with the committee at the Ipswich Artt Society. So watch this space.

We currently have expression of interest from people living in Toowoomba and Brisbane. If you live outside of these areas and would like up to come to your region contact us and let us know what workshops you'd like us to bring to you.
What are we funded to provide?
Currently we are funded to provide a three day program in which artists can undertake skills development in oil painting, abstract art or sculpture. The registration fee of $55 covers your workshop tuition, art supplies, community linking service and a limited access to trained support workers. Artists with higher support needs are welcome to bring their own support workers. Support levels will be discussed at the time of application progressing.
Understanding your computer would be a very welcome addition to classes to offer to disabled as it is very hard to access ordinary lessons and being computer literate is the major link to the disabled making participation in the outside world possible. Patience and repetitive lessons would be a wonderful help to many.
ReplyDeleteThanks for you suggestions Judy, Our Artists are welcome to identity and goals that will enhance their artistic opportunities in the future. As we are both aware their are huge benefits to marketing of work, although their are not computer workshops currently offered we could do so in the future. Or an artists could elect to enroll in a computer literacy course following the program with support from our community linking program. Or be linked to a mentor to assist in developing skills. Our program is a stepping stone to our beautiful Ipswich Community. Unfortunately as people journey through the program they will leave to find new stepping stones. But yes! practice make perfect.
