Introducing . . .

Until now our artists have remained anonymous. I now have consent to tell you a little more about each of them over the coming weeks. As you  know a few of our artists are keen to work towards an art exhibition and Claire Shelley has nominated for the position of sectary on our art exhibition committee team.

Artist’s Profile

Artists Name:

Claire Shelley

Originally from Boonah, Claire now calls Ipswich home.  This fun-loving adventurous   chick from the country in no stranger to creativity or the arts industry.  Before arriving in Ipswich Claire was involve in the writer’s community in Boonah and is currently on the editorial team of the ALARA client newsletter and our newly discovered artist at ArtISability.  Not every art group has a journalist in their mist.

During the ArtISability workshops Claire refined her skills with the paint brush and the textures provided by the mediums of oils and acrylics.

Our artists not only amazed us but amazed themselves.”

Under the mentorship of Judith Baker, Claire applied herself to developing skills and experimenting with different tools to enable her to achieve the finish results demanded of a professional artist.  ArtISability also provide Claire with a opportunity to network with other Ipswich Artists and learn more about what the Ipswich community has to offer Ipswich.

Claire is excited to unite with other artists in developing her professional networks and portfolio as they work towards hosting an art exhibition. I know Claire and I know she’s not afraid of hard work.

Claire was also keen to show off her latest work to a previous artist who told her to pack up her paint brushes and find a new hobby. We at ArtISability are so glad she didn’t list and came to join us.

You can view Claire’s work for yourself at the Ipswich Show May 16th to 18th.

If you are interested in meeting Claire and seeing more of the amazing talents she has to offer email chilton1968@bigpond.com.

Our next art exhibition committee meeting is Friday 16th May, 2014. If you are interested in supporting our artists to host their own art exhibition your welcome to attend our meetings.  Please note all executive decisions will be  made by the artists themselves through a secret ballet process, to ensure each artist is heard.
